Diameter

A standard pre-draw fiber assembly might have an effective diameter of 6mm - 75mm (0.24" - 3.0"), which can be drawn to nearly any reduced diameter. Below approximately 1.5mm (0.06"), a drawn glass fiber or rod becomes semi-flexible, and at 0.050mm (0.002") it is about as flexible as a human hair.
